About

Skyhunter Outfitters is owned by Chris Hitt, a 13 year veteran and a former US Army Cavalry Scout pilot with 6th Cavalry 10th Combat Aviation Brigade flying the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior. He has been trained heavily in aerial scouting and aerial gunnery techniques and was certified as a Mountain Master Gunner, 10th Mountain Divisions qualified trainers on small arms as well as heavy weapons systems like the M2 .50 cal heavy machine gun. He grew up in North east Texas hunting with his family. His father Mike Hitt, mentored him on proper hunting and wildlife management. Chris is the pilot and will be flying you on your hunts ensuring the highest level of safety while providing opportunities to get plenty of shots on wild hogs!

Mike Hitt is Chris’ father and also grew up in North east Texas hunting and fishing his entire life. An avid sportsman and no stranger to farming and land management. He spent much of his youth assisting with the family dairy farm and running one of his own for a number of years. He has over 23 years of experience with Coca-Cola in sales and logistics. He will be ensuring land owners are able to remain in constant contact with us so that we are as efficient as possible hunting these destructive animals. For you hunters and sportsmen, he will be your go to guy for any need!

Ultimately our aim is to provide an invaluable service to landowners saving them from as much damage and crop loss each year as possible while providing a hunting experience tailored for each hunter or group of hunters that is sure to be an experience of a lifetime!

At Skyhunter Outfitters, part of our vision is the ability to provide a truly memorable helicopter hog hunting experience for the hunters. We have achieved that through a combination of excellent liaison with the landowners and farmers, world class equipment, and local expertise in locating the areas densely populated by feral hogs. By providing helicopter hog hunting in Texas, we ensure that we can place the hunters in the right place for the most successful feral hog hunt opportunity and to provide a truly great experience for individuals and groups. Our mission is to provide this service to help farmers and landowners whose properties and livestock are being ravaged by this non-indigenous animal and we are proud of playing a part in the larger problem of controlling the overall feral hog population in Texas.

We maintain very high standards and have a long list of feral hog hunters who have greatly enjoyed their stay, and have been very satisfied with our hospitality and services. When it comes to experiencing a helicopter hog hunt what sets us apart from other businesses and hog hunting operators offering similar services, is the localized knowledge that we leverage for the benefit of hunters while providing them a truly customized package at competitive pricing. We have very transparent policies when it comes to helicopter hog hunting prices and packages. With us shooters can expect a fair deal and a tailored experience suiting their unique needs.

Attention Land Owners!

Give us a call today so we can help you protect your land!

Every year we join thousands of landowners and farmers across the state of Texas battling feral hogs. This invasive species causes massive amounts of damage to crops, livestock, and native wildlife. “Helicopter hog hunting” as it is usually called is actually Wildlife and Land Management, a program authorized and governed by Texas Parks and Wildlife. We provide this proven method of wildlife and land management to farmers all across the state!

If you are a landowner in Fannin, Lamar, Hunt, or Delta county and have feral hog problems or would like to have your land flown to prevent damage from feral hogs, we’ve got you covered! Generally, this takes about 30 minutes to an hour from start to finish.

If you are a landowner or farmer elsewhere in Texas, we will travel to you and would be happy to come fly and get rid of your hogs! Give us a call and we can work on getting your property protected from feral pigs!

We also provide other services:
– Wild and exotic game counts
– Exotic game capture (netting)
– Land protection
– Cattle herding

Frequently Asked Questions

A:Yes, you will need to have your hunting license on hand during your hunt. If you are an out of state hunter you can pick up a 5 day license from any Wal-mart.

Q:Can we bring our own guns?
A:Yes, we also provide firearms and ammunition for your hunt. Ammunition is unlimited so don’t be afraid to send rounds down range.

A:We use both! A custom AR-15 or a magazine fed 12 gauge shotgun.

Q:Is there an age limit to go on a helicopter hog hunting?
A:Gunners must be at least 16 years of age on the day of their hunt. Gunners that are under 18 must fly with a member of our staff for safety reasons.

Q:Do you only hunt in one area?
A:No, we will hunt anywhere in Texas. However, the more land you have the better your results will be. So tell your neighbors, we would love to help remove some of these invasive pests off their land too!

Q:How many can you accommodate for a helicopter hog hunt?
A:Groups of up to 6 in one day and we can handle larger groups over multiple days.

Q:What happens if there is bad weather or other adverse event?
