The Dawson Whitetail Ranch is a year round hunting operation offering all-inclusive Texas Hunting Trips. We are located in the Legendary South Texas Brush Country and are only 1 1/2 hours west of the San Antonio airport and just 8 miles south of Sabinal Texas, which claims to be the Hog Capital of the World.

To grow really big Trophy Whitetail Bucks you need to start with the right terrain. Basically our ranch is level except along the Sabinal River and is covered with thick South Texas brush, just perfect for bedding areas. We have strategically located food plots and have huge oak trees throughout our property making this a Big Trophy Buck Heaven.

Our big game management strives to produce quality trophies and you are never under any pressure to take an animal, the choice is yours when or if to pull the trigger.

Lodging

Our Hunting Lodge in Texas comes with 4 bedrooms (12 beds), 3 bathrooms, living room with TV, leather recliners & couch, kitchen, formal dining room, breakfast dining area, maid service, hot showers, and family style meals that are prepared on site by our cooks. Special dietary needs are not a problem with advance notice. The Hunting Lodge is decorated with rustic furniture and trophy mounts harvested from our ranch, throughout America, New Zealand and South Africa for your viewing pleasure.

Outdoor Entertainment

The 1600 sq. foot outdoor covered Outdoor Entertainment Patio is a main attraction and a one of kind. It has dining tables, pool table, ping pong table, foosball, large mesquite wood serving bar, microwave, ice machine, neon lights, stereo, & a massive rock fireplace with rocking chairs. You can also relax in the adjoining swimming pool that is “naturally heated” by the South Texas sun. You certainly will find yourself enjoying time here at the lodge when not hunting.

Whitetail Deer Hunting Packages

We pride ourselves in delivering a successful and quality Whitetail Deer Hunting Package experience for the individual who is short on time and wants to actually see many trophy bucks while relaxing away the everyday stress from back home. An out of state Whitetail Deer Hunting license is around $300 and not included in your hunt price. Youth Whitetail Deer Hunting License is around $50 — you can purchase it online at the Texas Parks & Wildlife website. We have a local taxidermist available to assist with trophy preservation and shipping. We provide a walk in cooler and ice as well as relationships with local butchers to take care of your meat. Meat processing, taxidermy, & shipping are not included but can be arranged easily. You can typically get a deer or a hog cut and wrapped for less than $100 and you can pick up a cooler at the local WALMART.

Bronze Whitetail Deer Hunting Package:
– All-Inclusive Deer Hunting Package – $2,495*
– A management buck of 7 points or less regardless of score, or a mature 8 point scoring under 130 inches plus 2 hogs of your choice, 3 days/2 nights lodging and accommodations.

Silver Whitetail Deer Hunting Package:
– All-Inclusive Deer Hunting Package – $3,600*
– A mature buck up to 9 points scoring less than 140’, one whitetail doe and 2 hogs of your choice, 3 days/2 nights lodging and accommodations.

Gold Hunt Whitetail Deer Hunting Package:
– All-Inclusive Trophy Whitetail Deer Hunting Package – $1,000 per hunter for complete lodge guest package deducted from applicable trophy fee below after your successful trophy harvest.
– Thursday afternoon thru Sunday mornings.
– Our objective is for you to harvest a mature buck 10 points or better over 140 inches B&C score, one whitetail doe and 2 hogs of your choice. (You will see a lot of animals on our Hunting Ranch so we recommend that you wait to harvest any additional Does and hogs until after you have harvested your intended Big Trophy Bucks)

Gold Whitetail Deer Hunt Trophy Fees are due after harvest
– 140’s: $4,500
– 150’s: $5,500
– 160’s: $6,500
– 170’s: $7,500
– 180’s: $8,500
– 190’s: $9,500
– 200+: POR

*Antler-less deer hunts may be offered as a bonus if needed for ranch management plans.

Trophy Exotic Hunting

Trophy Exotic Hunting in Texas at The Dawson Whitetail Ranch has good numbers of Trophy Fallow Deer, Axis Deer, Mouflon Sheep, Texas Dall Sheep and Red Stag among other exotic species. Because exotics are non-native to Texas, they can be hunted year round and can be a good excuse to get some friends and or family together during the off season and go hunting. Exotics are also a good add on to a Whitetail or Hog hunt and can be added on the fly to any of our other hunting opportunities while you are at the ranch. You can add a meat hunt or simply come out to fill your freezer with some great tasting wild game like Axis Deer. If you have never tasted Axis Deer Meat you are in for a real treat as it is one of the only wild game meats that does not have a wild game taste to it.

Available Exotic Hunting and Fees for Dawson Whitetail Ranch:
– Availability and Fees are subject to change if your hunt is not prescheduled.

– Blackbuck Antelope, Fallow Deer, Axis Deer, Ibex: $2750
– Red Stag $3500 to $5000

Hog Hunting

Ready for an unbelievable Texas Hog Hunting Experience? Our weekend semi-guided hog hunting packages include up to three hogs of the hunters choice, 3 days and two nights lodging and etc. for only $975/person. Additional Hog Hunting days may be added for $350/person. An out of state license for Exotic hunting is only $45. Non hunting guests are welcome! Lodge fee for non hunters is $250/Day.
